About SIE

Stanford in Entertainment (SIE) is a non-profit, member-based organization that includes Stanford alums working across the entertainment industry. Through our programming and events, we’re working to create connections, build an inclusive community, and open new opportunities.

Our Mission & History

Our mission is to promote the interests and careers of our members by providing opportunities and creating community among Stanford alums working in film, television, music, theater, interactive media, and all other facets of the entertainment industry.

For over 20 years, SIE has brought together members of the community for engaging social events like the annual SIE Summer Picnic and Holiday Party. While industry panels, live table reads, and keynote speakers have been our programming mainstay, we’ve grown to include a wide variety of in-person and online events throughout the year, including our highly successful Cardinal Arts Festival.

We’ve also created opportunities with the All Write Now writing competition. Previous winners of the contest have included Oscar-nominated Allison Schroeder, Julia Meltzer, and Danny Jacobs, among other notable alums. With the competition in its 17th year, winners are named in Deadline and connect alums with executives, agents, show runners, and leading industry members.
